Spring 2023's Hottest Hair Color
Spring is an invigorating season, it is time to clean spring, and the best time to change your hair color. As we enter February, we are tracking the color trends for spring 2023, this year we are seeing softer colors such as "honey blonde!" Honey blonde is kind to most complexions and will soften facial features. The best part is that it is gentle on the hair since we do not have to over-process hair to achieve a subdued color.
Honey blonde hair color and highlights can be featured in many hair colors from dark brown to the lightest blonde. 2023 honey blonde can be created in a solid shade, rooted balayage, or heavy foils.
Honey blonde highlights work beautifully on darker skin tones and all types of hair textures. We use "All Nutrient" organic hair color since it is gentler on natural hair.
Dark Hair With Honey Blonde
Rich dark chocolate hair with a honey blonde money piece or all-over balayage is a perfect combination of hair color. Using the balayage technique, and free-hand color painting, we can add the perfect amount of honey highlights in the best area of the hair.
Medium Brown With Honey Blonde
Consider a foilyage (balayage processed in foils versus open air) which lifts easily, after the hair is lifted to a golden tone, we apply a soft warm tone of brown in a root smudge fashion and then tone with Goldwell 9 GB with a ribbon of 8k, our favorite formula. This is only one of many formula options that will work best on pre-lightened hair. You can adjust the level of color, add more copper, and simply enjoy your own creativity.
Dish Water Blonde
Please take no offense to the term "dishwater blonde," it is my favorite color pallet to work with since it is versatile and simple to create a myriad of colors. Our clients are requesting an all-over honey blonde shade, watch your eyes stand out in this new shade.
Heavily Highlighted Blonde
A reverse foil adding dimensional warm tones, and toning with our above-mentioned toner, creates a natural sun-kissed blonde with strands of spun gold. The below picture is a reverse foil on a previously over-highlighted client.
As a colorist, the appeal of honey blonde is that I can keep my clients' hair healthy by not lightening, and less frequent color touch-up appointments. The honey-blonde sensation was recently sported by "Kim Kardashian," she toned her white locks down to a much more flattering shade of honey.
