With hair extensions, they are not one size fits all, therefore, carrying several methods to suit our clients' needs is our business strategy. The V Light hair extension system looks quite promising for those who have worked with other methods of hair extensions and are unhappy with their results. Sew-in weaves tend to be heavy on fine, and aging hair, and others find that keratin bonds create damage when removed. The V light system attaches to individual strands of hair, and they lay flat. The adhesive is similar to the new "combline" hair extensions, but the attachment is larger. I do not use the combline method for an entire head of hair extensions, instead, I prefer to use them on clients with fine, or thinning hair. The combline method allows for us to a single strand to single strands of hair, the adhesive matches our clients' hair, and we can attach it to the hairline, top of the head, and crown. I am also excited to test this new method on clients with hair loss.
Similar to Combline, the V Light system adhesive matches our clients' hair, and the attachment is small and we can attach in sparse hair areas of the head. What is most exciting, is that since the hair extensions contain more hair, we can use the technique to create a long head of hair, and the extensions are virtually undetectable. V-LIGHT adhesive complies with EU CE-RoHS environmental protection directive, used in V-light technology hair extension machine, 5-7 seconds curing hair extension. The hair extensions last up to 3 months and are reusable. They do not shed easily since the adhesive coats the entire section of the hair. The hair extensions look like individual tape hair extensions but are much stronger and do not need to be moved up as often. I find this technology interesting since many of our clients use tape extensions with clear adhesive to keep them in longer.
The adhesive is strong enough to brush and treat like your own hair. They are similar to ICE hair extensions, but the curing light allows for the extensions to dry quicker than ICE hair, and we can touch it immediately. The ICE hair extensions take a bit longer to dry, which makes rolling more difficult.
The creator suggests that removal is easy, but I am waiting to test out removal techniques to help improve the methods. Proper hair extension removal is key to keeping the hair extensions healthy. With other types of extensions that contain adhesives, we use an alcohol-based solution. Once we perfect this technique, we will give our best opinion of what will work best to remove the extensions without damage.
