Female Pattern Balding What To Do? Including Nutrafol Info

As an expert in the hair loss industry for over 20 years, it amazes me how many women are losing their hair. When a client visits our salon, I am often told they have FPB, Female Pattern Balding, which is an inherited condition. I am not a physician, but I tend to wonder why the rate of this condition is increasing every year! Our clients are often at their wits end, they have endured a scalp biopsy and cortisone shots, and some have paid out of pocket for Platelet Rich Plasma injections. I can not tell you the thousands of dollars they have spent to attempt to restore their hair, to no avail.

At the end of all of these treatments, we are the last resort. Our approach is an aesthetic one, we use hair toppers, aka hair systems, integration systems, and hair restoration pieces to restore their hair. But what I will NEVER do is shave or glue a hair topper to their head! Why? shaving and gluing can cause permanent damage to their hair follicles. My hope is that medical advances will eventually lead to medications, and/or treatments to grow their hair. To date, when a hair follicle is deemed "dead," it is nearly impossible to reverse. But, why damage hair follicles that are dormant? These follicles may eventually produce hair, and far be it to damage them by constantly pulling at them.

I am also frustrated with hair growth vitamins, I do believe supplements such as "Nutrafol," help to support the immune system, but have tons of clients taking this expensive supplement, and if the hair is not alive, it does not work. Waking dormant hair follicles can be as simple as consistent head massages. My mother was born in Italy, and as a child, she would massage my hair, and thankfully it has worked.

What we do for FPB?

1) We create a template of our clients' hair loss pattern, tracking areas of where our exclusive attachment system will support a hair topper.

2). Most clients with hair loss due to many reasons are not completely bald, therefore, tracking healthy hair is essential.

3). Some of this hair may be too short or pulled out due to Trichotillomania. In this case, we carefully extend the strands with our exclusive invisible hair extensions. Extending the existing short hair allows us to carefully attach a hair topper using our beaded matrix system.

4). We then creatively attach the hair piece to strong contact points, which enable the hair topper to stay on.

5) It is important to understand that our hair is growing, and shedding, daily. Therefore, maintenance is required. Most people with slow-growing hair require monthly maintenance where the hairpiece is removed, washed treated, their scalp is then treated, and massaged. The hair topper is reapplied.

Did you know?

Many insurance providers cover hair toppers, aka scalp prostheses, for many conditions due to alopecia, "hair loss."

We suggest simply calling your provider, and asking about coverage for alopecia. You will most likely need a prescription from your physician, PCP, or treating dermatologist. We are not a medical facility, but we will provide the proper documentation to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

We will help you with all of this at a free consultation! We stock a variety of hair toppers for immediate wear. Each topper is customizable, which may include color, or perming to match your hair texture.

Hair loss is our passion, and we never rush you! Our work is meticulously, and we will help you decide whether or not a hair topper is best for you, based on lifestyle, and commitment to the process.

Every stylist at our salon is trained in our process, and we support each other as team.

 Hair Loss background

With Alopecia Areata, fungal infections, other autoimmune diseases, thinning hair by Trichotillomania which removes hair follicles by physical means. At Noelle Salon, we cover the various approaches to hair solutions to treat hair loss, female pattern baldness, balding spots, and other conditions to which you lose hair. At Noelle Salon, we focus on hair growth techniques. Hair systems and hair extension maintenance is part of the journey while wearing them. For Trichotillomania, as our hair grows they both will loosen, and service is required. The difference between a hair system and hair extensions for Trichotillomania clients varies based on the location of hair loss.
