Client's Journey To Grow Her Hair After Hair Loss Due To Chemotherapy

A client's journey to grow back her hair after chemotherapy.

A cancer diagnosis has to be the most frightening thing to hear, treatments, illness, and then hair loss.  We are blessed to help those whose lives have been turned upside down after a cancer diagnosis, especially because we can give them back a part of themselves... their hair.  In most cases, we work with women who have completed chemotherapy, are tired of wearing wigs, and just want to look and feel like themselves again.  Wigs are so cumbersome, particularly when hair is growing back after treatment.  Once the hair begins to grow, the texture is often different, it can be frizzy, or curly which makes it especially difficult to style when it is short.

Case-in-point, our lovely client Nicole came to us a few months after completing chemotherapy, her hair was very curly and unruly, and she inquired about hair extensions.  Hair extensions do not work, or blend with short hair, especially if it is not lying flat.  She refused to wear her old wig and wanted something attached to her head that would look natural. Diane Fritz fitted her with a human hair topper, similar to her natural hair color, but we had to make her hair less curly!  We did a Brazilian Blowout keratin treatment, which de-frizzed her hair and allowed us to add a comfortable hair topper and hair extensions.

Hair toppers cover the top of the head, and it is recommended to not add too much weight to hair while it is growing.  It is far more comfortable than a wig and combined with hair extensions, it will help to create a natural look!

We used damage-free hair extensions "Veila Pull-Thru," on Nicole's hair and attached the topper with our beaded matrix system.  There was no glue, tape or sewing used to attach both the hair topper and hair extensions.  Nicole routinely visited our salon for maintenance, which involved the hair topper and extension removal, wash/treatment, and reapplication.

Fast forward six months, Nicole's hair grew so well beneath the hair topper, that we were able to remove it, as well as her hair extensions, and give her a fantastic haircut and style!  The keratin treatment helped to keep her hair healthy, and it is growing beautifully.

Nicole recently shared a Google review, along with photos of her hair!  I am honored to share her sentiments in her own words.  We are elated that she is feeling like herself, and that she overcame a huge hurdle in her life.  Working with such strong women is inspirational, and I can not express how brave they are.  I pray for everyone's health, and I do not want to solicit business.  I know we are here for those who need us, and I feel honored.

Nicole is a brave survivor!
